FAQs
How does the process work?
During the visit your pet will first receive a gentle sedative injection, allowing them to relax and become sleepy in a calm and comfortable way. Once they are deeply relaxed, the final medication is given which allows them to pass peacefully and without distress. You will have time with your pet before and after if you wish.
What does the visit cost?
A home euthanasia visit is $650, which includes:
• Travel to your home
• Sedation
• Private euthanasia
• Time for goodbye
Aftercare through water cremation is optional and charged separately depending on your pet’s size.
How much does water cremation cost?
If you choose return of ashes in a simple fabric bag, pricing is:
Pet Weight | Price
Under 10kg — $300
10–25kg — $380
25–40kg — $440
40–60kg — $490

What is water cremation?
Water cremation (also known as aquamation) is a gentle, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cremation. It uses a natural water-based process rather than flame and has a lower environmental impact while still returning your pet’s ashes to you if requested.
What if my pet cannot wait until Friday?
If your pet is suffering and cannot comfortably wait until Friday, we strongly recommend contacting your regular veterinary clinic as soon as possible. Your regular veterinarian will be able to arrange euthanasia sooner so that your pet does not experience prolonged discomfort or suffering.
What happens after the appointment?
If you choose water cremation, your pet will be respectfully transferred to our aftercare provider. Ashes are usually returned to your regular vet within 1–2 weeks, depending on the option chosen.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is via bank transfer and is required in advance of visit.
What areas do you service?
Currently we service Wellington and Porirua. We do not currently service the Hutt Valley.
My dog displays aggressive behaviour when fearful, are you still able to come?
Unfortunately as we have limited staff, we are unable to safely manage aggressive dogs at home. However, please let us know the nature of this behaviour in the 'contact us' section, so we can see if we can handle your needs.
